No love for Suh

Where better place to start my first blog than with my favourite, Suh. Following his kick to Schaub groin region on Thanksgiving Suh is being labelled a dirty player, not for the first time. This is on the back of being voted the leagues most over rated and dirtiest player. I have two problems first the kick on Thanksgiving and secondly the effect all the negative press is having on Suh.

First of all the kick. I was happy to hear the league will not be acting by suspending Suh for this act but may look into fines. This was not a deliberate act it was just forward motion which result in unfortunately   landing in a delicate area. If this had been any other player it would not have been looked at twice. I hope Suh does not receive a fine but the positive news is that he will be playing this Sunday in Green Bay.

As with regards to all the negative affects on Suh I think are become evident in his game. It's obvious now he is starting to take plays off, you do not see the relentless physical approach he gave offensive linemen two years ago. His greatest strength is his physicality how he can make a 300lb linemen look like a rag doll and becuase of this precived image he is playing less physical. For Suh to dominant and be the best DT in the game he has to play physical and throw opposition around.

The bright light could come in the the rather large size of Nick Fairly, the lions young troubles em DT. In recent weeks Fairly has arguable been the best tackle in the league and teams are starting to take notes. Fairly is going to start seeing more and more double teams leaving Suh one on one, his performance may also re-energise his team mate.

In my eyes Suh is the most talented and dominant defensive linemen in the game and could go on to have  a hall of fame career. For him to do to this he needs to re-create his old image, people were not calling him dirty and over rated in his rookie year when he was blowing past players. The best way to re-create his image and rediscover his form is to go back to being more physical and dominating the line. Ignore the haters Suh the fact is opposition still hate playing you.
